Twenty years of panels that are still running.

The proof is not the brochure. It is compression stations that stopped losing instruments, metering skids that bill accurately through storm season, and telecom panels that installed in one visit. Here is a sample of the work and what it produced.

20+years protecting instrumentation on major US pipelines
$100M+of equipment, infrastructure and instruments protected
8 yrswithout a protected-instrument failure at one operator, as reported by the customer
<5 nsSPD response on HPS-protected circuits, manufacturer rated

Results our clients report

Measured in equipment that did not fail.

Every one of these is a site that was losing equipment or downtime before HPS, and stopped afterward. Client statements as provided to HPS; names shown with permission.

$100kper week in losses before HPS

Eight compression sites, one grounding audit

Shell Pipeline was losing instrumentation and downtime at eight compression sites every storm season. HPS performed a grounding and bonding audit, corrected the ground grid, and installed coordinated surge protection on I/O, field instruments and 120 VAC. No loss has been reported since.

  • Grounding & bonding audit
  • Coordinated SPDs on I/O, instruments and AC
  • Eight sites, one standard

8 yrswithout a single equipment failure

Thousands of transmitters, zero failures

Kinder Morgan protects thousands of transmitters and field instruments with HPS surge protection and panels. In eight years of doing business together, not a single protected instrument has failed.

  • Transmitter and field-instrument protection
  • Program-wide standard
  • Continuous supply and support

$100k+of equipment protected, no downtime

I/O, instruments and 120 VAC

Williams Pipeline and Energy Transfer sites run HPS protection across PLC I/O, field instruments and 120 VAC control power. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment protected with no equipment loss and no downtime reported.

  • PLC I/O protection
  • Field-instrument protection
  • 120 VAC control-power protection

$1.5Mof equipment at three facilities

The only facilities with no storm loss

We Energies started with three facilities and $1.5 million of equipment under HPS protection. During a major storm, those were the only facilities with no equipment loss and no downtime. HPS protection is now written into their standard for all installations.

  • Three facilities, then the whole standard
  • Storm-tested
  • Specified for all new installations

Quality, on purpose

How a panel earns the HPS nameplate.

Quality is a sequence of checks with a name on each one, not a slogan. This is the sequence every panel goes through before it is crated.

01

Drawing review

Layout, schematics and BOM checked against the owner's standard and UL 508A before anything is cut. Calculations attached: loads, voltage drop, SCCR, thermal.

02

Build to the released set

Every wire numbered from the schematic, every device tagged per ISA-5.1, ducts filled to the limit on the drawing and no further.

03

Point-to-point check

A technician who did not wire the panel rings out every conductor against the drawing and signs the checklist.

04

Torque and label audit

Terminals torqued to specification and marked. Nameplate, warning labels and wire markers verified against the label schedule.

05

Factory acceptance test

Powered up, I/O simulated, communications proven, alarms exercised, with your engineer in the room or on a live camera. Red-lines captured once.

06

Documentation and ship

As-built drawings in AutoCAD, test record, photos of the finished panel and a serial number that follows it for life. Crated, insured, tracked.
