AI data centers · Texas

The campus is on a schedule. So are the panels.

AI data centers are being built in Texas faster than any electrical program in the state's history, and every one of them runs on hundreds of industrial control panels that never make the headlines: cooling, power monitoring, generators, fuel, water, security and site telecom. HPS builds those panels the same way it has built them for pipelines for twenty years, to UL 508A, on a repeatable drawing set, with a factory test behind every one.

Where HPS fits

Every system between the utility and the rack has a panel. Most of them are panels we already build for pipelines.

GPU halls get the attention. The site around them is an industrial plant: chilled and warm-water loops, pumps, generators, fuel farms, water treatment, switchgear rooms and a perimeter. That is the plant HPS has been building controls for since the beginning.

Example panels

What a campus order will look like when it leaves our shop.

Panels from HPS jobs, shown against the data-center families they map to. Where a family is new to our photo library, a representative industry example is shown and marked as such until the first HPS unit ships.

Why a pipeline panel shop

Data centers want what pipelines have always demanded.

Continuous load, no tolerance for downtime, lightning every spring, and an owner's standard that every panel has to match. HPS has built to that brief on compression stations and metering sites for two decades.

01

Repeat builds, not one-offs

A campus needs the same CDU panel forty times and the same generator I/O panel twelve times. We build the prototype, run the factory acceptance test with your engineer, then serialize the run against one approved drawing set.

02

UL 508A in the shop

Industrial control panels built and labeled in our Richland Hills shop. Class I Division 2 construction available on request; listing path confirmed per project.

03

Surge and grounding, coordinated

Power, signal and comms protection specified together, plus grounding and bonding audits. Our SPDs are rated under five nanoseconds (manufacturer spec), and one utility wrote our protection into its installation standard after a storm took out everyone else's.

04

One contract for panels and connectivity

With NexxtGen, HPS delivers construction-phase connectivity, fiber splicing, perimeter cameras and the telecom panels that tie them together, so the site is online before the first hall is commissioned.

What we build for a campus

Eight panel families, drawn once and built by the dozen.

Each family below starts from a standard HPS drawing set and is adapted to the owner's template: nameplates, wire colors, terminal numbering, network addressing and documentation format.

Cooling plant

Chiller, cooling-tower and pump VFD panels

Motor control with VFDs, soft starters and bypass, instrumented for flow, temperature and pressure, with BMS points mapped before ship.

Liquid cooling

CDU control and leak-detection panels

PLC control for coolant distribution units and secondary loops: pump lead/lag, filtration ΔP, conductivity, leak-rope zones and hall-level alarming.

Power

Generator paralleling and ATS I/O panels

Status, control and metering I/O for generator yards and automatic transfer, wired to the owner's EPMS with hardwired trips where the standard requires them.

Power quality

Metering and power-monitoring panels

Revenue-grade and power-quality metering built with custody-transfer discipline: verified CT ratios, labeled shorting blocks, calibration records.

Protection

Surge protection and grounding packages

Coordinated SPDs for 480 V, 120 V, signal and communications circuits, with bonding audits on the yard, the halls and the towers.

Site systems

Fuel farm, water treatment and pump-house controls

Day-tank transfer, polishing, leak detection and level; make-up water, treatment and blowdown. Class I Division 2 construction available on request where fuel is present.

Backup

DC UPS for controls and telecom

24 and 48 VDC UPS with battery monitoring so BMS controllers, radios and security stay up through a transfer or a brownout.

Prefab

Skid-mounted electrical rooms and shelters

Pre-wired, pre-tested skids and shelters for substations, generator yards and pump houses. Set, connect, energize.

How we engage

Four steps from your standard to serialized panels on site.

The first unit takes the time. Every unit after it is a repeat of an approved drawing, an approved BOM and an approved test.

01

Standards review

Your panel template, single-lines, points lists and network standard. We return a drawing set and a schedule.

02

Prototype and FAT

First article built and tested with your engineer in the room, in person or on a live camera. Red-lines captured once.

03

Serialized run

Repeat builds against the approved set, each with a point-to-point check, serial number and test record.

04

Site support

Commissioning support, as-builts in AutoCAD and technical support to field personnel 365 days a year.

Beyond the data center

Everything else HPS builds, to the same standard.

Twenty years of control panels, enclosures, protection and power for pipelines, refineries, utilities and remote sites. Every line below is a system we have built many times. See all solutions →

Start with the schedule

Send us the panel schedule for one hall.

We will return a drawing set, a lead time and a price for the prototype and the run. If your program has an owner's standard, send that too.
